Fund management teams

Cashflow Solution team

James Inglis-Jones and Samantha Gleave jointly manage the Cashflow Solution range of funds having first worked together in 1998. James previously managed funds at Fleming Investment Management, JP Morgan Fleming and Polar Capital. Samantha formerly worked at Sutherlands Limited, Fleming Investment Management, Credit Suisse First Boston and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Global Innovation team

The four-strong Global Innovation team is co-headed by James Dowey and Storm Uru who are supported by Clare Pleydell-Bouverie and James O'Connor. James Dowey and Storm Uru, who jointly developed the Global Innovation investment process, manage the Liontrust Global Innovation, Liontrust Global Dividend and Liontrust Global Technology funds. The four managers joined Liontrust as part of the acquisition of Neptune Investment Management in October 2019. James Dowey has 18 years of industry experience and has researched and taught the history of innovation at the London School of Economics, Storm Uru has 11 years’ industry experience, Clare Pleydell-Bouverie undertook third party research for private equity firms across a variety of industries before moving to Neptune and James is a CFA Charterholder and, prior to joining Neptune, completed his MSc in Education Research at Oxford University. He also holds the equivalent of a first class degree in Psychology and Economics at Harvard University.

Economic Advantage team

Anthony Cross joined Liontrust from Schroders in 1997 and launched the UK Smaller Companies Fund a year later. Anthony’s co-managers on the Economic Advantage range of UK equity funds are Julian Fosh (formerly Scottish Amicable Investment Managers, Britannic Investment Managers, Scottish Friendly Society and Saracen Fund Managers), Victoria Stevens (who joined from FinnCap), Matt Tonge (previously on the Liontrust dealing desk), Alex Wedge (who joined from N+1 Singer) and Natalie Bell (previously on the Liontrust Responsible Capitalism team).

Global Fixed Income team

Before joining Liontrust in early 2018, Phil Milburn worked at Kames Capital for 14 years, where he was Head of Investment Strategy. Donald Phillips also joined Liontrust in 2018 and was previously an investment manager in the Credit team at Baillie Gifford and worked with Phil at Kames Capital for three years. Sharmin Rahman joined Liontrust in August 2022 having previously worked at AXA Investment Managers where she had been a Senior Portfolio Manager and Analyst in the European High Yield team. Emma Veitch joined Liontrust in July 2022 having previously worked at Aegon Asset Management before taking a career break.

Global Fundamental team

Headed by Imran Sattar, the Global Fundamental team has a strong track record of active management of equities for institutional, intermediaries and their clients since 2002. In 2020, the Global Fundamental team was appointed to manage the Edinburgh Investment Trust.

Multi-Asset team

Headed by John Husselbee since joining Liontrust in 2013, the team comprises of three investment managers and two fund analysts. Deputy Head James Klempster joined from Momentum Global Investment Management, Anthony Chemla joined from atomos (previously Sanlam Investments), David Salisbury joined from 4 Shires Asset Management and Victor Alabrune joined Liontrust after completing an internship in the Portfolio & Data Insights team.

Sustainable Investment team

The 18-strong team has been managing the Sustainable Future funds for more than 22 years. The team is headed by Peter Michaelis who has been managing the funds since launch. The fund managers all joined from Alliance Trust Investments (ATI) as part of its acquisition and were previously running the Sustainable Future fund range at Aviva Investors.
